The inconspicuous ladybirds are smaller, often duller and mostly under recorded compared to the well known typical ladybirds.
There are 25 species on the British list, belonging to the Tribes Coccidulini and Scymnini. This website is a guide to the identification, habitats and successful search methods for the species that I have seen and photographed and also includes any information that I have available for the species I have yet to find.
My main recording area is in the north London, Hertfordshire and Essex borders, centred on the Lee Valley and Epping Forest in the UK.
